Air mass flow function

Air mass flow(MAF) sensor is designed to convert the air flow entering the engine, a DC voltage. The information allows the sensor to determine the mode of the engine and to calculate the cyclic filling air cylinders in steady-state conditions of the engine, the duration of which exceeds 0.1 seconds.

Filament is heated by electric current, and with the help of sensor and control circuit sensor, the temperature is measured and maintained constant.

If the sensor air flow increases, the platinum filament as it cools, the sensor control circuit increases the heating current thread until its temperature is not restored to its original level, thereby heating the filament current value proportional to the flow of air. Secondary converter converts the sensor heating current thread in the output DC voltage.

Over time, the thread is polluted, which leads to a shift of the calibration characteristics of the sensor. To clean the threads of dirt after switching off the engine (under certain conditions) thread burnt to 900-1000 ° C pulse of current for 1 second. Generates impulse control ignition control unit.
